FiiO is now taking the next step in portable retro music by introducing a portable CD player called the FiiO DM13, available with or without Bluetooth.
The DM13 emerges amid a growing trend of retro-tech resurgence, joining the ranks of vinyl records and cassette tapes in their revival. FiiO successfully launched their Walkman-inspired cassette player CP13 earlier this year and the DM13 aims to continue this success by offering a portable CD player that caters to modern audio needs.
The FiiO DM13 is not limited to just playing standard CDs. It supports multiple audio file formats, including MP3, FLAC, WAV, AAC, and WMA, when burned onto a CD-R. This versatility allows users to create custom mix CDs or revisit their old collections without worrying about compatibility issues.
Additionally, the DM13 features Electronic Shock Protection (ESP), a technology designed to buffer music and prevent skipping when the device is in motion. This feature is particularly useful for those who want to take their music on the go without interruptions.
The portable CD player boasts a rechargeable battery that provides up to eight hours of playback time. For extended use at home, the DM13 includes a desktop mode that allows it to draw power directly from a connected source, bypassing the battery. This mode is ideal for integrating the DM13 into a home stereo system, where it can remain plugged in for continuous use.
Connectivity options are plentiful with the FiiO DM13. It includes analogue, SPDIF, and USB outputs, making it easy to connect to various audio systems, whether at home or on the go. This range of outputs ensures that the DM13 can be a central component of any audio setup.
Featuring both 3.5mm single-ended and 4.4mm balanced headphone outputs, the DM13 is ideal for use with a wide range of headphones including FiiO’s FT5 Planar Magnetic headphones, the FT3, and new FA19 in-ear monitors.
